Melbourne, Victoria, February 13 2023 — Victoria Police have just released a revamped version of the Police Fit app with Fitter App—a Melbourne-based start-up that arms the police with a no-code platform to deliver remote health and fitness training to recruits across the state. Built on top of the latest web technology, Fitter App enables employees of Victoria Police to easily create and deliver exclusive training content in their own branded app. Employing a no-code solution for their custom app means the police don’t need to involve developers, saving countless hours and resources.

In 2018, Fitter App was engaged by the Victoria Police to develop a fitness app that would help prepare applicants for admission into the police, Protective Services Officer and Police Custody Officer roles. The Police Fit app educates and prepares applicants on the level of fitness that is deemed suitable. Specifically designed by the Victoria Police Physical Training Unit, multiple programs and workouts are offered to accomodate varying applicant fitness levels. The programs include exercise demonstrations for each individual fitness test component, with tools provided to measure progress.

With the newly released app, preparation now extends beyond the physical to mental as well, giving applicants a more wholistic foundation for entrance into the force. From Verbal Reasoning to Numeracy Skills, Abstract Reasoning and more, video-based entrance exam tutorials outline each component of the exam to help applicants prepare for cognitive assessments.

Freely available on Google Play and the Apple App Store, training programs, exercise demonstrations, exam tutorials and even meals are included to give applicants the best chance of success. The flexibility of Fitter App also gives Victoria Police a platform to share recruitment information, event registration and podcasts.

The Fitter team have been thrilled with the feedback from the community and broader users of the app: ‘This is the best fitness and nutrition app I have ever used. And it is from a police force, not a company trying to sell something! While the training program is specific to the police fitness test, the nutrition information is comprehensive, and evidence-based. Great stuff.’

Co-founder of the platform, Steve Scott hopes to see continued success and expansion of the app, not only with recruits, but wider through the police force in supporting members prepare for annual fitness exams, injury prevention and rehab, and return to work programs. "The scope and possibilities in supporting a police or defence force are massive, and we hope to be the go-to platform for police preparation, retention and success."
